USSA/MARA Membership - Alpine

Each Alpine athlete is encouraged to be a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. This entitles the athlete to participate in sanctioned age group competitions and be eligible for advancement to higher competition levels as a valid competitor. All athletes enrolled with Alpine will have the opportunity to participate in sanctioned competitions if they choose.

All new members may apply online on the USSA website. Previous members: send in your renewal today.

  • J4-5's need a Youth Competitor license
  • J3's need a Competitor's license
  • J3's not planning to race in any state qualifiers as listed on the calendar may become a Non Scored Student.
  • J1-2's will need a Competitor's license, unless you do not plan to race in any USSA/MARA events. If you do not plan to race in any state qualifiers, you may join as a Non-Scored Student

Renewals will be charged a late fee of $25.00 per person if postmarked after October 15.

Each Alpine athlete is encouraged to be a member of the Maine Alpine Racing Association (MARA), a sub governing body of the Eastern Region of USSA. Events are scheduled for each age group in Maine, as reflected on the Gould calendar. Some events are qualifiers for championship events (designated with a 'Q' or 'Qual'). Only MARA members are eligible to qualify for higher levels of age group competition within our state and regional system.

The separate age group race series and how to enter the events are described in detail in the MARA Handbook, or at www.skimara.org. Throughout the season, our staff will assist you in clarifying the qualifying procedures and share with you which events we will participate in as a team.

All new members will be required to join MARA when they join USSA. Previous members will automatically renew when they join USSA. You can join MARA on the USSA Alpine Membership Form.

USSA/Eastern Freestyle Membership - Freestyle

Each Freestyle athlete is encouraged to be a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. This entitles the athlete to participate in sanctioned age group competitions and be eligible for advancement to higher competition levels as a valid competitor. All athletes enrolled with Freestyle will have the opportunity to participate in sanctioned competitions if they choose.

  • J5's that want access to entry-level/non-scored competitions (EQS/B Meets) need a Youth Competitor license. Does not include participation in the USSA Freestyle Ranking List. - Late fees do not apply.
  • All levels that want access to all competitions (ECS/A Meets) need a Competitor's license.
  • J1-J3's that are new members can get a Rookie's License. (first year only, access to divisional events only).

USASA Membership - Snowboard

Each Snowboard athlete is encouraged to be a member of the United States of America Snowboard Association. This entitles the athlete to participate in sanctioned age group competitions and be eligible for advancement to the USASA National Championships. All athletes enrolled with Snowboard will have the opportunity to participate in sanctioned competitions if they choose.
