Sunday River is proud to host White Out Weekend in association with The OutRyders, New England's largest GLBTQ ski and snowboard club, and the DownEast Pride Alliance. White Out Weekend (WOW) is all about stellar skiing and riding with friends, plus events, parties, and more. Meet the Face of Perlage. Featuring the dynamic and beautiful Erika Gallon from Veneto, Italy. Begining at 4 p.m. Legends Restaurant will offer a wonderful flight of sparkling Italian Prosecco for $15.00/person. Ms. Gallon is flying from the Italian Dolomites to help bring a little Old World Flair to our Northeastern corner of the world. Erika’s wines are stylish, contemporary, and crowd pleasing. Afterwards Legends is offering a special Valentine’s Day surf and turf dinner for two. This special three course dinner will feature Tenderloin of Beef and Lobster Tail, and includes bottle of wine. Cost of the dinner is $75 per couple. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Scott Folsom. Reservations are recommended, 207-824-5858.

The Joy of Skiing at the Sunday River Outdoor Center is a dining adventure for a good cause. Perfect for cross-country skiers and snowshoers of all levels, the Joy of Skiing offers designated dining locations along the trails with traditional food favorites, including freshly made donuts served trailside and hot Sunday River Brew Pub soup at the covered bridge, plus s'mores at the firepit and more! Each hour between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. a different dining station along the trail will open. Pre-register for $6 or pay $7 at the door. Kids 6-12 and seniors 65+ pay $4; kids 5 and under and those 80+ participate for free, in addition to the normal trail and rental fees. Proceeds benefit the American Lung Association of Maine. Appetite for Destruction has been paying tribute to Guns N' Roses for over ten years, packing out venues throughout the tri-state area. Their catalog of Guns N' Roses songs is greater than that of any other tribute band in the country. They are able to perform over fifty songs. The 80’s and 90’s are long gone but tribute bands like Appetite for Destruction keep the experience going for all to enjoy. Word has it that these guys are a better show than the original, but that will be up to you to decide, so get out to this show and check them out! Cover charge TBA.

Never Summer Industries will be coming to Sunday River all the way from their factory in Denver, CO on Thursday March 8, to offer free snowboard demos! They will be bringing their entire line of snowboards for the upcoming 2012/13 season. Stop by their tent at South Ridge to see what it's like to ride a board that is Made in America! Just bring your ID and credit card to demo a board.

Join us at the Outdoor Center from 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m, when our Inn Loop will be open for cross country skiing and snowshoeing as the sun sets and the moon rises. Candle lanterns will be lit on some of our Inn Loop trails and we will build a fire at our firepit for roasting marshmallows. We will also have a small sledding hill lit up which will be available for families who want to get out and enjoy the evening. Half price rates will be offered for trail passes and rentals for the evening.

Simon Dumont broke the quarterpipe World Record in 2008 and then came back to introduce the first-ever Dumont Cup in 2009. Watch firefighters compete in teams of five in full turnout gear and carrying a fire hose as they race down the mountain to raise money for Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation. Then, sample chili from the best cooks in the state as they vie for the "Best Chili Cook" prize. Activities start at 10:00 a.m. and take place at White Cap Base Lodge.

Parrothead Festival is Sunday River's biggest and best party of the year. Join us Friday through Sunday for Jimmy Buffett-inspired festivities thanks to the Parrot Head Club of the Northern Tropic's efforts to raise money for charity. The Tough Mountain Challenge is back for 2012 and going to be even bigger and better! This is the ultimate event for the thrill-seeking athlete and undoubtedly the hardest race at Sunday River as competitors face many obstacles and some of the most demanding and unique terrain at Sunday River in a 5k course. You will have the opportunity to compete in one of three courses that range in difficulty from tough to absolutely crazy hard. The 4-mile course is do-able for most athletes and tops one peak, the 8-mile course covers 5 peaks and the 12-mile course covers all 8 peaks of Sunday River. All courses will be supported with aid stations and signage. No matter what race you choose, it is guaranteed to be an epic experience!
